Dr. Buhl was born and raised in Saugerties, New York where she graduated valedictorian in her high school class in 1985. She attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and she received several undergraduate research grants before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and American government. She then went on to attend medical school at The New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York where she received her doctorate of Medicine in 1993.
Dr. Buhl completed a four year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The New York Hospital from 1993-1997. Following residency she completed her specialty training in gynecologic oncology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.
Dr. Buhl holds the title of A ssistant P rofessor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine and is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ABOG).
She pursues resident and student education, as well as research, as a member of the Divisions of Gynecologic Oncology at both Stony Brook and Winthrop-University Hospitals.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (F.A.C.O.G.) as well as the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
Dr. Buhl is married to Dr. Mark Moradi, who is also a gynecologic oncologist. They stay busy caring for their beautiful daughter Ruth and two dachshunds Thelma and Louise. Dr. Buhl’s other interests include cooking (desserts are a forte) and spending time with her friends and family.
